Geoff Davis is a pioneering generative artist, writer and AI researcher. He founded Micro Arts Group in London in 1984, distributing computer art and story generators on data cassettes and Prestel Teletext, and has been making new art and text throughout the 2020s. He has published fiction with PEN, released music, and built creativity apps; in a separate field, he works in sustainable development.
His work has been exhibited since 1985. He has taught at art colleges and worked in innovation and sustainability. He took a Research Masters in Electronic Arts at the Lansdown Centre for Electronic Arts, Middlesex University, on zooming user interfaces and creativity apps for writers, including non-linear narrative, and has since researched text and AI at University of the Arts London. He founded the AI Creative Anthology in 2023, and sits on the committee of the Computer Arts Society, where he runs a series of art talks in London and online and helps organise events.
Geoff’s art is exhibited internationally (UK and Europe) and is in the collections of: Computer Arts Archive CAA, UK; Francisco Carolinum Museum, Linz, Austria; the Franke Foundation Collection, Germany; The National Museum of Computing TNMOC, Bletchley Park, UK; the Le Random collection; and with many international collectors.
